Tune Time and Active Music Minds classes for children aged 2 - 8
Musicianship for musical children in south Hampshire through singing and movement based on methods used in leading musical conservatoires
Using body movement and in-tune singing, games, listening and other fun activities, I train the "inner ear" so that children develop into sensitive and literate musicians. Based on the principles of Kodály and Dalcroze, the children learn the concepts of music such as beat, metre, pitch, intervals, melody, phrasing, harmony, dynamics, tempo and how to read music. The purpose is for children to develop into sensitive and literate musicians and the programme supports the learning of any musical instrument. Similar methods have been used in the junior departments of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Trinity College London, the Royal Northern College of Music and other conservatoires. Some of our children have been coming for 4 years now.
The Tune Time classes are for toddlers and preschoolers aged 2 - 4. The Active Music Minds classes are for school-aged children. No assessment is required for the Tune Time classes of for beginners aged 4 - 5. For the Level 3 and above Active Music Minds classes a free informal entry assessment will be given.
All lessons are taught by Vincent, a fully qualified and experienced music teacher for young children, who is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. Free trial classes are available.
