St John’s School for the Deaf is a non-maintained residential and day school for pupils aged 3 to 19, which was founded over 130 years ago. We are regarded as a centre of excellence; bringing deaf children to language through an oral approach uniting linguistic, academic and spiritual growth. Our curriculum offers pupils the opportunity to take GCSEs, Certificates of Achievement and vocational courses. In addition to 24 Teachers of the Deaf and team of dedicated Care Staff, we have a full time Audiologist and 4 Speech and Language Therapists.
We have recently been awarded Beacon School Status.
