Morwellham Quay
Established in 1970, this preserved village and historic port, in a beautiful riverside setting, depicts the life and work of a busy C19th industrial community. Costumed staff give talks and demonstrations in restored cottages, workshops and on the quayside. Visitors can try on Victorian costumes and children can make (and take away!) a length of rope or experience child labour on the Ore Dressing Floor. The wooden ketch 'Garlandstone' and the riverside tramway into a real copper mine are highlights.
