Canal Holidays in the UK for Families

Since 1977, the Peter Le Marchant Trust has provided day trips and longer holidays for disabled and seriously ill people of all disabilities and all ages on specially designed canal boats. Over half our passengers are aged under eighteen.

From April to October inclusive, “Symphony” takes 26 people on day trips (including weekends), “Serenade” takes 10 people on 3/4 night holidays, and narrowboat “Melody” is available for weekly hire by a family or group with at least one disabled member. Charges are kept to a minimum so as not to exclude any groups. The remainder is raised in donations.

Beacon Park Boats are ideally located on the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal. Set entirely within the Brecon Beacons National Park with over 22 miles of lock-free cruising, the canal is prefect for first timers and a great holiday for the whole family. We offer a choice of 13 luxury boats, the widest range on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Boat widths vary from 6ft 10ins, to 8ft 6ins and can sleep from 2-7 people. Our luxury award winning boats have an exceptionally high standard of fixtures and can include a wide range of luxury extras from hot tub/Jacuzzi, log fire, 5ft four poster bed, covered outside seating, a full size roll top double ended bath and more!

All our holiday hire narrowboats have large cruiser style back decks and spacious cockpits enabling both young and old to enjoy the ever changing scenery. We offer flexibility on both length of stay (3, 4, 7, 10, 11 or 14 nights), and start day (Saturday, Monday & Friday). No charge is made for dogs.

The Pirate Castle is a community boat club on the Regents Canal in Camden Town. We offer canoeing, kayaking and trips out. We run canal cruises. Trips are skippered and can be for the day or for weekend or week-long canal holidays.
