CReSTeD

Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils

CReSTeD provides a Register of schools approved for their dyslexia provision. The Register is supplied free of charge to parents and is updated twice a year. Schools are divided into four categories to help parents and their advisors match the provision to the pupil’s requirements.

Established in the UK since 2001, Dore offers a drug-free programme of physical exercises created by leading medical experts for children from 7 upwards as well as teenagers and adults. It is aimed at improving the efficiency of the brain’s skill development centre which some researchers believe is at the root of many cases of learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger’s syndrome and ADHD. The Dore Programme includes:

  • An initial assessment with a fully qualified doctor
  • A personalised exercise Programme to suit individual needs
  • Daily access to myDore, your virtual internet based guidance and coaching system
  • Progress visits every 3-4 months with an experienced coach
  • A completion assessment

Dyslexia Action is an educational charity, founded in 1972, for the assessment and teaching of people with dyslexia and training for specialist teachers.

Dyslexia Action provides a national network of 27 main centres and some 150 linked learning centers, offering individual assessments by Chartered Psychologists and qualified Teacher Assessors and screening for schools, colleges and other organisations. Tuition is provided in literacy, mathematics and study skills using our own highly successful teaching methods and materials. Dyslexia Action carries out over 7,000 assessments each year and currently provides specialist tuition for over 3,000 children in its Centres, outposts and school units. The effectiveness of Dyslexia Action teaching methods and materials has been warmly praised by thousands of grateful children and their parents.
