Dancefest is the dance development organisation for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and runs a vibrant year round programme.
Dancefest runs children's dance classes and workshops for all ages, for both experienced dancers and people who have never danced before, across the West Midlands.
They include Contemporary, Choreography, Street, Breakdance, Mini Movers, Dance Clubs and Youth Dance. Participants get the opportunity to perform both informally and in the annual showcase.
Dancefest offers extensive education work in schools and colleges, and also coordinates Worcestershire Dance Teachers, to provide networking, support and CPD opportunities for teachers, dance workers and students working with all Key Stages and in Higher Education.
Dancefest leads many projects each year. These vary in size and scale, from one off workshops to site specific performances.
Work is undertaken for community groups, including organisations working with the elderly, disabled people and young people, and it also provides performance and participation opportunities and information for young dancers and choreographers.
Dancefest also designs and manages its own projects, which include Jigsaw, an annual integrated performance project involving disabled and non-disabled performers, the creation of dance films and site-specific work.
Dancefest leads Worcestershire Dance Promoters, which brings together the county’s venues to work on audience development, programming and participation.
