Established for 20 years we teach dance to children aged from four to adults. We encourage each pupil to reach their full potential and pupils have the opportunity to take exams and take part in the school shows. Our classes that run in North Abingdon- Wed-Fri after school and all day on Saturdays range from beginners to preparation for entry into Dance and Performing Art Colleges.

Between 2000-2010 14 students won scholarships to study at Arts Educational London, Bird College, RADA and Mountivew. Past students perform in the West End in Wicked, We Will Rock You, Dirty Dancing and Legally Blonde.

All teachers hold CRB certificates and are trained either following the student teacher training programme offered within the Academy or by attending dance training college.

As an Academy we offer, in addition to our weekly classes, the opportunity to attend workshops, take examinations or medal tests, attend external and internal competitions and to take part in our shows and festivals.

We pride ourselves on the friendly and enjoyable atmosphere within the Academy. Our motto is ‘Creating Dreams…making friends’ and we feel that the Academy is a place for doing just this!!!!

We have two dance schools run by a team of fully qualified teachers. The Junior school was established in 1966 for children aged three to eight offering RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap and Modern. Children then graduate to:

Senior school established since 1986 for eight to eighteen year olds offering RAD Ballet, Grades up to grade 8 and Majors, ISTD Grades and Majors in Tap and Modern and Jazz medal levels. We offer musical theatre classes for children aged eight upwards.

The school works in close conjunction with the local theatre enabling the children to perform in several professional productions each year.

The Central Scotland Ballet School has been established for over 15 years offering a variety of dance classes to children aged from 2 ½ to adults. We teach RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, Modern and Jazz. Our aim is to make dance classes fun whilst encouraging pupils to reach their full potential.

As well as an Annual Show and prize giving we also run our own choreography competition once a year.

All Teachers within the school are qualified to teach the Cecchetti Method of Ballet which is a branch of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. All classes have pianist accompaniment.

Founded in 1988, the Jill Bridger School of Dance offers tuition in classical ballet, modern threatre dance, tap and natural movement for children from the age of two. Jill is registered with and accredited by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the Imperial Society (ISTD) and the National Association of Teachers of Dance (NATD).

The school timetable includes ‘Melody Movement©’ classes for children aged 2 to 4. This syllabus is carefully structured to develop creativity, musicality and co-ordination with an emphasis on expression and enjoyment through music and movement.

The school encourages all children to achieve their personal best, with options to participate in examinations, competitive dance festivals and school shows.

Ron and Julie, the principals, encourage students to take part in festivals, shows and competitions all over the country, which adds to their performing experience. Many students have had film and modelling contracts and have performed at the London Palladium.

We consider that we are the only vocational school in the area. Many of our children are selected as Junior, Mid and Senior Associates of The Royal Ballet School. We currently have two students at White Lodge. Most of our seniors audition for dance colleges and have been accepted with full funding at Elmhurst, Birds, Laines, Performers, Central, Rambert etc.

In addition we offer opportunities for children to take part in Festivals, bi-annual school shows, auditions for pantomimes and English Youth Ballet and London Children’s Ballet productions where one of our pupils has the lead in 'The Secret Garden' and 'Jane Eyre'.

Significant numbers of our senior students have been accepted, with full funding, at a variety of dance colleges and many are now appearing in West End shows like 'Mamma Mia' 'Lion King' 'Fame' and 'West Side Story'.

Garrowhill School of Dance has been established for over 30 years offering Ballet, Tap, Modern, Highland, Majorettes, Acrobatic and Cheerleading classes for children from the age of 3 years.

Classes take place Mon-Fri afternoons/evenings and all day Saturday.

All ages welcome, 18months to adult.

Whatever their natural ability, pupils will find that all our classes help them improve their posture, co-ordination and stamina. For little ones in particular, they are also a vital stepping stone in developing musical awareness, story-telling skills, and an enthusiasm for the art of dance they will carry with them through life. All ballet classes are taught by Tamara, the principal, who is passionate about instilling a love for movement and expression in her students. The use of arms and upper body is definitely a part of training which shows the Russian method at its best. Tamara’s professionalism and creativity is clearly seen in her choreography and in her students’ good working attitude. Her husband, John, is also on hand to teach master-classes to the senior groups and boys classes when the need arises. He has taught at the four major Vocational Dance Schools in London and comes with a wealth of experience.

Girls and boys are accepted from the age of 3. All grades, including Pointe work. ISTD Modern and Tap. Ballet and Adult Tap.

Students participate in Dance Festivals, Fund Raising Concerts, Russian Ballet examinations and our annual School Concert. Pupils can also audition for Vocational Dance Schools, Youth Ballet Companies, Pantomimes and attend Royal Ballet School Outreach programmes.

Summer Dance Week in July is always a very popular and successful event!

Experienced and enthusiastic teachers in a welcoming environment. We hold lessons in Malvern on a Wednesday and Saturday, In Ross-on-Wye on a Tuesday and Thursday and Hereford on a Monday and Friday. The lessons are held by term and every two years we put on a production on stage in which all the children can participate.

We are a well established Performing Arts School and College with a team of highly qualified and dedicated staff.
